This is currently the view from our back door featuring a very dirty patio chandelier that hangs above our patio table. I had set out to do a bit of spring cleaning earlier in the week and found a little something that said it would have to wait. (Oh darn!)
The following images feature a different angle taken through the glass doors. The quality is a bit poor, but I know you forgive me as you probably wouldn't want to disturb such a wee mother either.
Yes, a hummingbird has created the tiniest nest imaginable on top of our chandelier. (My kind of bird!) Sweet boy has christened her "Lil' Mama".
The back door has become off limits for the next 40 days as we want Lil’ Mama to feel secure. She doesn’t seem to mind when I open the door a crack and let Rudi the doxie out. (Maybe because he is so low to the ground~smile.) But, she does panic if we try to step outside. Luckily, we have access to the back yard via the garge that we can use.
What a blessing it is to enjoy such a wonderful creature everyday.
