A new bathroom for $40.00.

A few of you may remember the front bathroom when the Fashionista lived at home. It was very girly. Since she moved out I decided it was time to sandblast Sweet Boy out of our master bathroom and into his own space. I took color palette cues from his own room to link the spaces together as they are indeed across the hall from one another.

Living my mantra of "low budget/use what you have" I was thankful for bloggy friends. Inspiration struck with Layla's drop cloth curtains. Taking it up a notch I added a raggamonster garland to the top for a bit of pizazz, color and texture from fabric I had in my stash.

The drop cloth shower curtain is extra long~ 96 inches. This is a great way to add drama to a bathroom that has no windows. Even with the extra length I still had to cut off quite a bit of of fabric from the drop cloth. Never one to waste anything I gathered up the scraps and went out of my mind sewing yards and yards of gathered drop cloth onto the side and bottom of the curtain to again add a bit of interest.

I adore this personalized artwork which I will show you how to make in the next post.

I also found a great picture on clearance at Homegoods. The towels and bath mats were also on clearance at Kmart. They are from Martha Stewart.

I continue to have a hate relationship with this huge dated mirror. This time I tried to disguise it with a netted table topper I bought for $1.98 at Pottery Barn. I show all the details in Wednesday's post.

How do you like my $40 bathroom makeover?
