Escort Cards: Informs your guests of the table at which they will be sitting. Escort Cards have their names and table number/name listed. They are usually displayed on a table, listed in alphabetical order by last name.
Place Cards: Indicated where each guest is to sit at their assigned table. They are placed on the reception table before the guests arrive. Place cards are used in more frequently at formal weddings, but can be incorporated for informal weddings as well.
It is important to at least have assigned tables, so there is a smooth transition for your guests, so they are not wandering around wondering where to sit and with whom.
