It's not a problem if the shower is being held at your mother's home. But if you are trying to stick to traditon, then have your attendants mail the invitations, indicating they are the hostesses.
It may seem odd, but since the purpose of the gathering is to "shower" the bride with gifts, it would be perceived as your mother is asking for something on your behalf, which is not always reviewed in a positive way.
