On Mother’s Day I didn’t ask for flowers.
I didn’t request breakfast in bed.
No, I wanted something more. I wanted willing assistants who wouldn’t complain while helping me clean out their closets, try on some clothes that were perhaps too small, and maybe even get rid of a few things. It is an brilliant, EVIL ploy because they know they have to have smiling faces on Mother’s Day.
I even made my family a huge batch of blueberry pancakes with bacon for breakfast and chicken satay accompanied by jasmine rice for dinner. Yes, on Mother’s Day. Because here is my secret: On Monday, the day AFTER Mother’s day, Mr. Decor went back to work, the kids are in school, there are glorious leftovers and the only thing I have to do besides enjoy this quiet day is to drop off a few things at Goodwill.
Ok, it’s not that much, but I probably made you laugh and rethink your mother’s day plans for next year. Oh and they still loved me enough to present me with a few cards like this:
Up next… the garage. Seems as though my birthday can’t get here soon enough. :)
