I am writing to share a few details on an exciting new nonprofit organization of which I am a part. More importantly, I am hoping you may want to get involved in a special way, too. Based in Chicago, The Dream Team is a nonprofit organization committed to helping families who have experienced heartbreaking personal challenges plan a wedding/event to remember. These families may have experienced job losses, life threatening illnesses, military deployment, sudden death of a family member or other family emergencies. We work with dream granters across the nation to ensure their wedding dreams come true.
A little background on how The Dream Team works: Each state’s Board of Directors will consist of the following: President, Vice President, Public Relations/Marketing Chairperson, Event Orchestration Chairperson and Committee, Fundraising Chairperson and Committee, Treasurer, and Secretary. The Dream Team will grant weddings by calling on registered “dream granters” to donate their professional goods and services to the couples in need. Each state board is responsible for creating a database of at least three volunteers/dream granters for each of 20 wedding and event job categories. You are great at what you do! Certainly, I also realize your schedule is extraordinarily demanding. I can assure you that the Dream Team will do our best to make the most of the time and talents that you provide. The Board will meet no more than once a month, and will maintain a strict agenda and schedule. A few meetings also will be held via conference calls. The Dream Team currently has chapters formed in New Jersey, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Alabama, Michigan, California, and Hawaii. As we unfold Dream Team chapters and begin dedicating events to deserving families across the nation, we need the help of smart business owners like you who realize how well-purposed philanthropy can absolutely transform lives.
