A truly beautiful store located in New Orleans is Antiques De Provence on Royal Street in the French Quarter.
It is set in a wonderful brick home complete with lovely lanterns and shutters in the palest tones of French Blue.
The beautiful olive jars are from the 17th through the 19th century.
The interior features fantastic plastered walls and a spectacular staircase.
I wasn’t sure what to look at first~ the beautiful fanlight over the doorway, the linen covered chairs or the gorgeous chandelier.
I wanted all three of the Louis XVI mirrors.
I love the wire mesh doors on this bookcase. It is very similar to chicken wire but oh so much nicer. My brain is freezing up in trying to remember the correct French term. Anyone?
UPDATE: Thank you to Susan and Andrea for supplying the correct terminology: “portes grillagees”.
The French provencial bench with the rush seat is perfectly paired with the brick floor and sweet painting of the countryside.
Please just back the truck up. I will take it all.
I adore the caning featured on the fauteuils and side chairs.
Can I get a round of “oohs and ahhs” for the wire garden furniture topped by a gorgeous chandelier?
I wanted every single one of these confit jars. In days of old this would have held duck fat, a more elegant alternative to a coffee can of bacon grease.
Why is everything always extra adorable when it is child sized? I am still sad that I left this darling set in the shop.
What do I love more~ the wooden beams, brick floors, beautiful lighting or the furniture? It was almost too much goodness for my eyes to take in.
I adored the effect of the brick peeking through certain portions of the pale plastered walls.
I hope you have enjoyed this two week trip through New Orleans. Perhaps you are now inspired to visit this truly wonderful city.
Thank you to those who are helping the Make It Right Foundation rebuild a portion of the city. Team Decor To Adore has now raised $70. Once the $300 goal is reached we’ll celebrate with a giveaway.
