Over the course of the past few days I have felt my eyes well up with tears of gratitude many times over.
“We all have angels guiding us…They look after us. They heal us, touch us, comfort us with invisible warm hands… What brings their help? Asking. Giving thanks.” ~ Sophy Burnham
I sent out a small plea to help Valorie and bloggers responded in ways that I never dreamed possible.
“Become willing to see the hand of God and accept it as a friend’s offer to help you with what you are doing.” ~ Julia Cameron
Whether it was listing a donation for the online auction, bidding on a donation, making a direct monetary donation, spreading the word or saying a prayer, there has been love spread throughout the entire blogosphere.
“Hands to work, hearts to God.” ~ Shaker Axiom
All were beautiful gifts of the heart that I will be eternally grateful for.
“May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive, which is wrapped in thoughtfulness, and tied with love.” ~ L. O. Baird
To give of the heart is truly a priceless gift.
“You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.” ~ Kahlil Gibran
So in this season of Thanksgiving I find myself not really concerned about what is on my turkey day menu, or which plates will grace my tablescape. Instead, I find my thoughts consumed by gratitude and perhaps this is truly as it should be.
“An open home, an open heart, here grows a bountiful harvest.” ~ Judy Hand
I shall strive to see that everything in life is a miracle and dearly hope that peace, happiness and gratitude find their way into all hearts this holiday season.
“Hope is the thing with feathers- that perches in the soul…” ~ Emily Dickinson
What are you grateful for this year?
Laura
Andrea and I are also very grateful for the positive responses we have received for Métis Linens and the online Métis blogtique. We are celebrating with a giveaway over at Bonjour Romance. Please visit Mimi for a chance to win a basket filled with French loveliness.
