To avoid inspirational overload, I've had to split this fabulous Indian/American wedding into two different postings. Believe me, it's that good! Poonam and Chirag celebrated their big day in the neon sunshine of Los Angeles, but drew on their heritage for for inspiration. And man were they inspired! With a wedding party wearing traditional saris, an elegant white horse, a scattering of rose petals and a very fetching red and gold parasol, the photographs are a feast of colour. I'm loving Poonam's jewellery and the henna drawings on her hands and feet, plus her stunning wedding outfit. And I'm jealous of her long eyelashes - no fakes needed for this wedding day. Don't miss the next installment, where I'll featue the pictures of their reception. Huge thanks to Our Labour of Love for their fabulous pictures.

Real Wedding: Madhu & Devaraj
There is an elephant in this wedding - how cool is that! Admittedly Madhu and Devaraj did get married in India, and there are more elephants there than most places, but it's still impressive. The happy couple celebrated their big day in a traditional ceremony, and I've fallen head-over-heels for their style. Indian weddings are always a feast for the eyes, and this one is no different. Check out the bridesmaids' amazing orange saris and parasols, Madhu's stunning henna tattoos and gardenia garlands for starters. Other steathworthy details include the personalised fans, peacock feather place markers and stunning petal mosaic. Huge thanks to US photographer Punam Bean for her inspirational pictures.

Real Wedding: Pooja & Harsh
Palm trees, the scent of crushed rose petals underfoot and a sea breeze to cool the air. Could this be the perfect destination wedding? Pooja and Harsh celebrated their big day in the Dominican Republic in a flurry of stunning saris and sequins. Only an Indian wedding could combine bright pinks, reds and oranges, and carry it off in style. Both Pooja and Harsh's outfits are exquisite, and I love the traditional margiold garlands. Fans a brilliant idea for favours if you're celebrating in the heat - they come in every colour, so you can match them to your theme. Huge thanks to Karen Wise for her gorgeous photographs.
Real Wedding: Mariam & Ben
It's pretty hard to have a totally original big day, but this cute couple Ben and Mariam had a pretty good go at it! Check out Mariam's gorgeous fabric and button bouquet for starters. Then look at the later photos to spot her second dress of the day, a sari for the reception. At this point you should note that neither of them are Indian they just thought it'd be fun! Whatsmore, instead of doing the first dance together, they continued the Indian theme, and did the Jai-Ho" dance from Slumdog Millionaire with their friends. Isn't that just the coolest idea? Fanastic photos as ever from Christine Chang.
Real Wedding: Neha & Neir
There's nothing like an explosion of colour to bring light to a grey day, and it's so glum out there this afternoon, that I thought it was the perfect time to publish these dramatic photographs from Neha and Neir's big day. They got married on a cold and rainy day in November - typical weather for the UK - but it didn't seem to take the shine off their ceremony! Just goes to show, that if you add enough colour, no one will notice the climate. Big thanks to Karen Wise for her spectacular pics.
