Strawberry Fields Wedding Theme

Despite the howling gales outside and the pouring rain, my thoughts have turned to summer - I guess I'm just good at going to my happy place!  But I've been helped along hugely by this the fifth edition of e-zine Utterly Engaged, and in particular, this feature of theirs inspired by strawberry shortcake.  So many ideas, in particular their use of layered linens to create a truly individual effect. In other words, a wonderful source of DIY wedding ideas - don't miss their monthly online magazines.

Real Wedding: Erin & Jeremy

If you haven't discoverd the wedding e-zine Utterly Engaged, you're missing out. Although since I've snaffled a gorgeous rustic wedding from their collection for your viewing pleasure, don't worry too much.... Erin wasn't actually that detail obsessed, but her sister took on plenty of projects on her behalf, and created a truly gorgeous affair. Inspiration came from Erin's love of baby's breath flowers, earth tones and vegan foods, and their big day was a truly eco-friendly wedding. And if you think going green means sacrificing style, check out the gorgeous One Love pictures below.

Midsommer Night's Dream

Huge praise has to go to Utterly Engaged for yet another excellent feature.  If you haven't checked out their online magazine before, click here, and enjoy!  I'm adoring this Midsommer Night's Dream-inspired piece - which should provide you with plenty of ideas to steal.  It's an inspirational gift that just keeps on giving.

Real Wedding: Carmen & Vincent

Decorating your wedding reception in these post-credit crunch days doesn't need to be difficult, particularly thanks to the help of the lovely ladies over at Utterly Engaged e-zine. I'm loving the use of eye-catching blue lanterns at Carmen and Vincent's gorgeous wedding, plus the balls of blue carnations. Just goes to show that if you pick a stand-out colour as the basis of your big day theme, then everything else falls into place. Perfect if you're new to party planning. Real Wedding: Lucia & Phil

Inspired by the ocean and the beach, Lucia and Phil chose gorgeous shades of acqua, teal and yellow for their simply heavenly big day earlier this year. As a fellow wedding blogger, Lucia was super-keen to make their wedding unique, and as a consequence, it's a feast of inspiration! My top-to-copy include the travel theme, including paper aeroplanes as place markers and the gorgeous globe, plus the multitude of cakes - why have one when six will suffice! This sequence of shots are taken from the fantastic e-zine Utterly Engaged - check out the link, as their sixth issue is hot off the press. PS. If the text is too tiny, give the pic a double click!

Real Wedding: Angelique & Ricardo

Buckets of brilliant ideas to copy from this gorgeous feature from the e-zine Utterly Engaged. Angelique and Ricardo met at work, but it wasn't until Ricardo spilt a drink over Angelique's dress at a company party that they started dating! Their big day was a wonderful family affair featuring lots of gorgeous handmade and customisable details including bunting, birdcages and chandeliers. Check out the Utterly Engaged website for the full feature, including how the happy couple chose their themes and all their DIY secrets!

Real Wedding: Dayna & Mike

Maybe it's my girly side, but I just love baby pink, so this wedding immediately caught by eye as I was flicking through the fabulous e-zine Utterly Engaged.  Dayna and Mike met at high school, and after many twists and turns, celebrated their big day this September in a flurry of petals and prettiness.  They didn't have a big budget, so all the gorgeous details you see are DIY, which goes to show you can get fantastic, lux-looking results, with a dollop of imagination and a bit of legwork.

Real Wedding: Barbara & Aaron

When the gloom of the British winter gets too much, it's time to dream of a destination wedding, and as the sun set shortly after 4pm this afternoon, I thought these pictures would be just the ticket. Barbara and Aaron celebrated their big day in Orange County, and added a flamenco theme to hark back to their original, chance meeting in Spain. I'm loving the rich red of the flowers they chose, and the dramatic black and white lace motif on the table cloths, plus the addition of suitcases and vintage postcards to reflect their travelling past. Huge thanks to photographer Gabriel Ryan and the fabulous e-zine Utterly Engaged for these gorgeous pictueres, and remember to double click for a closer look.
